This 2007 Porsche Cayman has been racing in the Intercontinental Trophy Cup which is a junior series for road racing teams and drivers. As a dedicated race car this Cayman is outfitted with all the safety protection and top end parts that street prepped cars owners only dream of owning.
The suspension components contain a set of ultra expensive JRZ race coilovers with external reservoirs and surprisingly a set of off the shelf TPC sway bars. Since suspension tuning is such an imperative part of a race car this Cayman also sports GT3 lower control arms and adjustable race toe links which helps increase the contact patch of the tire while cornering.
The engine looks to be fairly stock and which I’m guessing is part of the series rules. But the car is running a Mantis deep sump oil pan for protection against oil starvation and Fabspeed headers and exhaust to free up a little more power
Since it is a race car the mods are pretty much endless but I find it interesting what brands/parts they chose to mod showroom Cayman with. For all those people running a Cayman on the track I would keep this build list as a reference guide for a reliable and proven track setup!
The asking price is $60k as it sits and no you won’t be able to register and drive it to neighborhood Tullys. For those looking for a well sorted and true race car I actually think the price is pretty compelling.
