The Boxster Spyder and Cayman R have a reputation of being a performance bargain for Porsche with handling that outperforms a few variants of the more expensive 911 model.
These mid-engine cars are down on power to its 911 sibling but make it up with less mass that equal very nimble handling cars. This Cayman R example has super low miles with less than 10k on the odometer and has the all important 6-speed manual transmission.
While Porsche PDK transmission is probably the best dual-clutch gearbox in the world and in most instances faster than a standard transmission, I’m always drawn to a 6-speed manual with a clutch pedal whenever its offered.
I like the classic Carrera White exterior chosen for this car and the black accents of the wheels, Carbon Fiber spoiler and graphics package look good against the light color. Little touches like the black painted side mirrors and exhaust tips give a cohesive theme to the car.
The Cayman R is roughly 121 lbs lighter than a standard Cayman and Porsche used aluminum doors, lighter seats and different wheels to keep the weight down and this car has a curb weight of roughly 3,000 lbs.
I love the red pull straps on the door which saves weight but more importantly adds a big of nostalgia and is reminiscent of classic sports focused Porsches. This Cayman R has the sport chrono package that adds a a sport mode for the engine and stability management system.
Overall, I think this lightly optioned, low mileage Porsche Cayman R is a nice example and looks to be in very clean condition. The seller is asking $62,150 for it and the car is located in Atlanta, Georgia.
