Jaguar has been on a mission to change its image and has recently released vehicles focused on performance. No other car embodies their new direction than this ultra limited XKR-S GT that comes with a 5.0L V8 that makes 550hp and over 500 lb-ft of torque.
Limited to just 25 units, the XKR-S GT receives multiple chassis and aero enhancements that create a track car that has the Porsche GT3 in its sights. Through the use of a supercharger this Jaguar is able to run to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed that is governed at 186 mph.
The exterior looks like a XKR-S on steroids and this GT version has an aggressive front bumper with carbon fiber canards and a protruding front splitter. The nose is menacing and the hood has louvers that feed air into the engine. The rear of the car has a large wing which works with the lower diffuser to generate up to 320lbs of downforce.
The interior isn’t as ostentatious as the exterior and I really like the look of the seats that have a mix of leather, alcantara and red stitching matching the rest of the cabin. Even though this XKR-S GT is made for the track it has every conceivable luxury that a driver can imagine including a Bowers & Wilkins audio system with 14 speakers and a large GPS screen in the center.
With a MSRP of $175k, this XKR-S GT was an expensive proposition and still is today on the second hand market. This example has less than 1k miles on the odometer and St. Louis Motorcars has listed it at $160k.
