A reader sent me this 1995 Guards Red RWB Porsche which was used as a display vehicle in the Pirelli tire booth during the 2015 SEMA show.
Built in Los Angeles by RWB creator Akira Nakai, this 993 Carrera 2 has been fully outfitted with a 16 pic aero kit that totally transforms the car. The exterior pieces include the trademark RWB widebody with exposed rivets holding the flares to the body and a form over function design that gives all RWBs a unique look.
This car has a cool looking set of fender wings over the rear wheel arches that help air flow towards the rear Kamiwaza double deck wing. I’m not huge on the rear wing and prefer the whale tail version used on other RWB cars, it looks chunky and a bit cartoonish on this car.
The whole car was updated and this 993 is now sitting on JRZ RS-Pro coilovvers with ERP suspension bearings for a tighter steering feel. The brakes were upgraded with a Brembo GT kit front and rear and the wheels are a RWB-LA custom forged 3-piece with a super wide 18″x 11″ front and 18″ x 13.5″ wheel in the rear.
No pictures of the interior are shown but this RWB has a full alcantara interior including a covered dashboard and parts from the light weight RS including the carpet, door panels and rear seat delete. The flat-6 engine was also treated to Fabspeed headers, cat bypass and Supercup exhaust to help add a little bit more power.
This RWB 993 has made the rounds to Rennsport Reunion, SpoCom and SEMA this year and the owner is now looking to move on to something else. A lot of time and money has went into this car and this RWB has an asking price of $175k.
